PRESS RELEASE – Jim Gellatly Joins Clyde 1
One of Scotland’s top music broadcasters will be joining Clyde 1 from Saturday 15th May for a special summer programme. Jim Gellatly will join the Clyde 1 team and broadcast to Glasgow and the West of Scotland on Saturday afternoons from 2pm. The show will demonstrate Jim’s love of all music and will appeal to Clyde 1’s huge audience.
While the Superscoreboard team take a summer break, the new show will have a special feature throughout the weeks; “Jim Gellatly’s A to Z of Rock and Pop”. As Jim works through the alphabet he will have a personal story or association with every artist featured from interviewing Robbie Williams at 5 in the morning after he left Take That for his solo career to interviewing Blur and forgetting to hit the record button.
Jim says “I may have a reputation for breaking new music, but I’ve got wide tastes that I think reflect Clyde 1’s audience, and I can’t wait to come on board. I was the first person in the world to play acts like Biffy Clyro, Amy Macdonald and The Fratellis, but I’ve a passion for classic pop music, old or new. I’m really excited about sharing my love for the music, and it’s a real thrill to be part of such a strong line-up at Clyde 1.”
Radio Clyde’s Programme Director, Paul Saunders, said “I am delighted that Jim is joining the Clyde 1 team. Jim has a huge passion for all genres of music and will create a unique show on a Saturday afternoon during the summer months.”
